Hey there!  Hope everyone is having an awesome week so far.  Today I have a super awesome lady over here guest posting.  Diana is an indie biz owner who just went full time with her craft....yay!!!   Congrats sweetie!!  {Oh! and we're almost sewing twinkies!!}

She makes some of the most awesome stuff, and her Babypantz are just genius!!  Do you need a gift for a baby?  Her babypantz are perfect for that little one in your list.  {No, she's not paying me to say any of this}.

Not only is Diana super talented at sewing, but she has some of the most delish vegan recipes out there.
You might remember the awesome cookie recipe she enlightened us with a couple of months ago...you must try these cookies out if you missed the recipe...they are soooo delicious {and addictive}
Well friends, she's baaaack!!  With another yummy recipe that has quickly become one of my favorites.
So without further ado....

hey everybody!
dianapantz here! i wanted to stop by citlalli's blog and help her celebrate her one year sewing anniversary.
i also taught myself how to sew *almost* 12 months ago, and can image how excited she is feeling.
its such a rad feeling to start something ; something you have *no idea* how to do. and to practice and practice, and to finally just get it!

i blog over here, about my journey with following my 'crafty' dream. last year, i started dianapantz ; a blog and a shop, both by the same name.
i post about vegan recipes, everyday happenings and turning my hobby into a full-time indie biz!
in my shop, i sell farmers market totes, baby accessories [legwarmers!!] and hand-knit winter wear [hats, scarves, cowls]

so, what is the *best* way to celebrate?!
with [vegan] donuts, of course!!
i recently bought a donut pan, and i am a donut-making machine ;)

*these donuts would make a great snack for a sewing party ; or a fun treat after an afternoon of creating*

whole wheat vegan powdered sugar donuts!
makes 1/2 dozen large donuts // take 15-20 minutes total
original recipe found here // vegan modifications made by me

what you need :
*1 cup whole wheat flour
*1/3 cup turbinado sugar
*1 teaspoon baking powder
*1/4 teaspoon baking soda
*1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
*1/3 cup + 2 tablespoons almond milk [i use unsweetened]
*1/4 cup applesauce [again, i use natural//unsweetened]
*2 tablespoons canola//vegetable oil
*1 teaspoon vanilla extract
*a few drops almond flavoring [i did not use this!]

how to do it :
1) preheat oven to 350* ; grease your pan
2) whisk flour, sugar, baking powder&soda, nutmeg together in a mixing bowl.
3) whisk applesauce, milk, oil and flavorings in a separate bowl. combine ALL ingredients and stir *only* until everything is moistened.
4) spoon batter into pan [you can use a pastry bag OR you can use a spoon and your fingers; thats what i did] ; fill each mold 3/4 of the way full ; bake for 9-10 minutes.
*you want your donuts to be spring-y*
5) remove from oven, take them out of the pan and let them cool for 10-20 minutes.
ready to powder your donuts?!
6) put donuts in a plastic bag [i used an old bread bag], along with 1/2 cup of powdered sugar and donuts. shake*shake*shake until all donuts are fully covered.

thats it.
take them out and enjoy.
i really enjoy placing them in the fridge overnight and enjoying them cold for breakfast.
or, of course while sewing ;)

and congrats citlalli for working so hard to create a beautiful product!
